MATCHMAKING BRAZIL: PAST & FUTURE

IMG_6308.mp4

Established in Brasília (Brazil) in 2013 by Dr. Bernhard J. Smid, Matchmaking Brazil emerged as a pivotal gateway for international collaboration. For over ten years, we have served as a trusted partner in bridging global commerce and institutional affairs, navigating the complexities of the world market with excellence.

Beyond our core advisory, our team is deeply embedded in high-level working groups and influential organizations like the Amazon Environmental Restoration Alliance. Our commitment to these critical dialogues is long-standing, having previously contributed directly to the Strategic Coordination Council of the Alliance.

Matchmaking Brazil maintains extensive international relationships with both public and private entities, which enabled the provision of services to foreign public bodies, such as the Government of Bangladesh. This network facilitated the execution of multiple official missions to various countries for strategic meetings with public and private organizations, serving as benchmarking and a knowledge base for the subsequent implementation of public policies in Bangladesh. We focus on fundamental themes such as smart cities, the re-signification of urban spaces, the use of technology to expand citizen access to government services, and environmental best practices, including wastewater treatment and recycling.

Our evolving perspectives have transformed deep-rooted client and institutional relationships into entirely new business ventures. This innovation led to the launch of Vulica Brasil, a project originally conceived at the Brazilian Embassy in Belarus to revitalize urban spaces, which was successfully brought to its first domestic territory in Brasília. Additionally, we supported the establishment of Nature Invest, a collective financing platform for socio-environmental projects created to address the funding gap for small local solutions that are frequently overlooked by national and international ESG resources in favor of larger-scale initiatives.

Beginning in 2023, we launched a transformative strategic era marked by revamped governance and the appointment of a new executive director. Under this new leadership, Matchmaking Brazil has evolved into a premier boutique consultancy, dedicated to executing high-stakes international ventures that leverage deep market intelligence and elite networking to foster global innovation.Furthering this commitment, our firm is an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). We contribute directly to pivotal thematic committees and maintain a robust presence at high-level sectoral events, serving as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue and collaboration between Brazilian market leaders and international stakeholders.
